Arrivals & Airport Transfers

Arrival Airport: Eastgate Airport, Hoedspruit (HDS)Eastgate Airport Website

📍 Hoedspruit, Limpopo, South Africa

Participants should arrive on the first day of the program. The arrival day is reserved for airport transfers, check-in, settling into the lodge, and meeting the rest of your group.

We recommend booking the latest available arrival flight into Eastgate Airport (HDS). This helps reduce waiting times at the airport and allows our team to coordinate transfers as efficiently as possible.

Upon arrival, a Wildlife Adventure Africa team member will be waiting just outside the terminal with a clearly marked sign. Your name will also be displayed for easy identification.

After meeting you, we’ll transport you directly to the lodge where you can unpack, settle in, and meet the rest of your group.

Eastgate Airport is a small and easy-to-navigate airport, making arrivals and transfers quick, simple, and stress-free.

Departure Information

The final day of the program is reserved for departures. This allows everyone sufficient time to check out, transfer to the airport, and travel home comfortably.

We recommend booking the latest available departure flight from Eastgate Airport (HDS) on the final day of your program. This allows you to enjoy the full experience while giving our team plenty of time to coordinate airport transfers.

Our team will transfer you from the lodge directly to Eastgate Airport in time for your scheduled departure.

🔴 If you plan to arrive before the program start date or depart after the program end date, you will need to arrange your own accommodation in or around Hoedspruit. The lodge is reserved exclusively for participants during official program dates and may be occupied by incoming groups after your departure.

Travel Insurance (Required)

All participants are required to hold valid travel and medical insurance. This is mandatory for participation in any Wildlife Adventure Africa program.

Your insurance policy should include cover for:

  • Medical treatment and hospitalization
  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation
  • Trip interruption or cancellation
  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings
  • Personal liability cover (recommended)

Insurance must be arranged independently before travelling to South Africa. We strongly recommend carrying a copy of your insurance documentation throughout your trip.

Approximately one month before your program begins, you’ll be invited to join a dedicated WhatsApp group with the other participants attending your dates.
