In partnership with the ARRC Foundation, this 14-day outreach program combines veterinary work, community upliftment, and cultural immersion — giving you the chance to make a meaningful difference across South Africa’s rural areas.
Join us for a life-changing hands-on experience where you’ll assist with real veterinary cases, support rural farmers, and provide essential care to animals that would otherwise go untreated. Together with our experienced vets and the ARRC Foundation, you’ll gain both knowledge and purpose while helping improve animal welfare and community livelihoods.

👩⚕️ Not a Vet Student? No Problem.
Whether you’re a veterinary student, vet nurse, technician, or simply an animal lover with a passion for helping others, this program welcomes participants from all backgrounds. You’ll gain invaluable field experience while assisting with clinical treatments, vaccinations, deworming, and animal care in under-resourced communities. Our outreach work covers three key areas:
- Community: Providing veterinary care and education to low-income villages
- Farm: Working with livestock and local farmers to support sustainable animal health
- Wildlife: Contributing to wildlife conservation projects on local game reserves
You’ll also engage with the vibrant Shangaan culture, connecting with local people and learning how animal welfare plays a vital role in community life.
Participants will:
- Assist with veterinary treatments, vaccinations, and health checks
- Learn safe animal handling techniques
- Treat injuries and wounds
- Prevent and manage parasites and diseases
- Educate pet and livestock owners about proper care
- Support wildlife conservation efforts on nearby reserves

Your two weeks will include a balance of rewarding outreach and unforgettable South African adventures:
- Veterinary lectures and training
- Dart gun handling practice
- School visits to educate children about animal care
- Kruger National Park full-day visit
- Panoramic Route sightseeing tour
- Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre visit
- African Elephant interaction experience
- Meet Jessica the Hippo visit
- Kinyonga Reptile Centre visit
- Zipline over the Graskop Gorge
- Day and night game drives in Big Five areas
Every activity has been carefully selected to create a life-changing balance between education, exploration, and adventure.
💰 Program Fee – 2026
Total Cost: US $3,400
- Booking Deposit: US $1,700 — due to confirm your placement
- Remaining Balance: US $1,700 — payable 30 days before arrival
The booking deposit is non-refundable, but it is fully transferable to another date or participant if changes are made more than 30 days before your scheduled arrival.
We understand plans can change — our team will always do our best to help reschedule or transfer your booking if needed.
Our Rates Include:
- Comfortable shared accommodation (2 – 5 participants per room)
- Three meals daily
- Purified bottled water throughout the day
- Tea, coffee, juice, and water with meals (cash bar available for soft drinks & liquor)
- Daily housekeeping and laundry service
- Free Wi-Fi access at the lodge
- All scheduled excursions and outreach activities
- All in-country ground transfers and airport pickup/drop-off
- Certificate of Completion

- International and domestic flights
- Airport taxes and transfers outside the program dates
- Personal expenses, phone calls, and bar tabs
- Optional excursions not listed in the itinerary

Wildlife Adventure Africa partners with nature-inspired lodges and outreach camps that offer comfortable, authentic stays during your 14-day journey.
Depending on your program dates, accommodation will be arranged at one of our trusted partner lodges, combining the warmth of South African hospitality with the beauty of the surrounding bush.
